Betty Castillo, 72, of Alamogordo, NM entered eternal life peacefully Thursday, July 26, 2012 at Sagecrest Nursing And Rehabilitation Center. She was born March 8, 1940 in Alamogordo, New Mexico to Solomon and Margaret Telles. Betty was a devote Christian and served her community in various roles that touched the lives of others. She resided in Alamogordo, NM for most of her adult life. Betty is survived by her husband, Ignacio Castillo; two daughters, Veronica Chavez of Las Cruces, NM; Monica Lloyd and husband Wil of San Antonio, TX; two sons, Anthony Valadez and wife Dondi of Capitan, NM and Daniel Valadez of Las Cruces, NM. Other survivors include her sister Margie Hurley of Alamogordo, NM and 14 grandchildren, Andrew, Curtis, Victoria, Allyson, Jacob, Celeste, Christian, Dominique, Lawrence, Dreamer, Kristopher, Aundrea, Elijah, and Mariah, as well as four great-grandchildren, Kalila, King, Genesis, and Jeremiah. Other survivors include numerous nieces and nephews. A visitation with family and friends will be held Friday August 3, 2012 at 6 p.m., at Getz Funeral Home Chapel where a evening service will follow at 7p.m., with pastor Raymond Rodriguez officiating. Cremation will follow and inurnment of cremains will take place at a later date.
